How I became inspired in the Fitness Industry

I hadn’t planned on becoming a personal trainer, and in fact I spent much of my life without much interest in physical fitness or working out.  My body on the other hand, had plans of its own. Diagnosed with Hashimoto's aka hypothyroidism, I started gaining weight, losing energy and feeling foggy most of the time.  Deciding not to be undone by my new challenge, I began pushing myself and added fitness to my schedule and revamped my entire diet.  I was amazed by how quickly my life was changed by my new commitment to fitness and immediately felt a desire to share this change with others, knowing that if I could help people who had also never worked out discover their own fitness path they would fall in love with it.  

I don't believe in once a week training. I expect the same dedication from my clients that I have for myself. 

If my clients will commit to training at least 2 to 3 times a week or more for just 30 minute sessions, and embrace a nutrition plan adapted to their fitness needs, they will see results in strengthening their body and their mind, and in addition, they will gain the confidence they need to beat the emotional challenges that can come with being overweight.

Glutes 101

For the average women sitting at home who feel like they are stuck in their present body and can’t do a thing to change it. Well, YES YOU CAN!! And I bet one of those things are tighter,  lifted glutes. I’m an average 40 year old woman. I don’t post fitness videos in thongs to show my glutes or bras to show my abs or chest muscles. I’m here to respectfully show every woman out there who has convinced herself that hope for change actually DOES exist!!

Push-Ups for the Beginner

Oh yes there is! You just have to know where to start and how to modify the exercise! The goal is chest to floor, but that requires full range of motion. It’s STILL possible to BUILD up strength by just going down an inch or so and then, over time, as your arms get stronger you will begin to have fuller range of motion. Please do not be discouraged because you aren’t strong enough right now for full range “Perfect push-ups”! Give it time.
